Movie Review : Singh is Kinng

Anees Bazmee is back after Welcome. This time it’s the much-hyped film Singh is Kinng. There has been a lot of buzz around this project. This film even before it was completed fetched Akshay Kumar the tag of ‘New king of Bollywood’. And yes, Akshay Kumar is brilliant, he excels in his role and all the hours that he spends labouring in the gym are clearly there for everybody to see. And it’s an enjoyable film.

But all the die-hard Anees Bazmee fans please beware. Anees has made a good film, a funny film. For those two hours and fifteen minutes you suspend rational thought and get your money’s worth. But whatever happens do not go in there expecting a No Entry or a Welcome. Once you’re clear that this film is not one of the director’s masterpieces and you are not likely to see it again and again (as you did with No Entry) you can put your feet up, pull out the popcorn and let the fun begin…

Hard Kaur renders Bas ek king with Neeraj Sridhar, Mika Singh and Ashish Pandit. The rap comes out pretty well in the renditions and lyrics. A pumping piece of music, it has already become chartbuster. Punjabi to the core, Bhootni ke couldn't have been sung by anyone other than Daler Mehendi.

Lyricist Mayur Puri has ensured that each and every word of the song is meaningful. This track is likely to become a huge hit in Punjab.Next, Jee Karda sticks to the Punjabi theme with bits of western music immersed into it. Labh Janjua and Suzie Q render it with full gusto. It is a fun track.
