Song writer, composer and singer Kamran Ahmed never imagined that Lambi Judaai of the Emraan Hashmi starrer Jannat that he actually wrote for his parents would turn out to become one of the most downloaded love tracks of all time. “My parents live in Pakistan. And I have been staying away from them in Dubai, since 2001, meeting only occasionally. This song brought back memories of time spent with them. I am glad people understood how I felt,” says Ahmed, 26. Fresh from the success of his first single, Pakistani artiste Ahmed, is performing in India for the first time at Elevate, Noida. Ahmed is thankful to Bollywood for putting him in the spotlight. “It is an honour that Bhatt saab (Mukesh Bhatt) selected my song as one of the tracks for his movie. It has really turned the tide in my favour and I am getting offers from music directors. Even though the song did fairly well in Canada, USA and the UK, nothing compared to the success I received from Bollywood. Appealing to an Indian audience is always much easier,” reasons this self taught singer.
